Master Engineer, our first machinima. It's an engineering profession gadget demonstration, or showoff if you will.
Some fun facts: The Goblin Jumper Cables failed to resurrect dead Blindbind, so we just used a lie down / stand up emotion.
Unlike most of our movies, this one is recorded by Redhama with his Fujitsu (rest in pieces). We didn't know that the WoW UI could be removed with hotkeys, so the video is actually recorded with the UI that was cropped away along with the Fraps trial message in post production. Pioneering in the use of Fraps with powerful computers, we never recorded a full production with camcorders. Some scenes of The Fall of Orc, for example, are recorded to DV casettes via Y/C output of the GPU.
Back in the days of Warcraftmovies.com, where WoW machinimas were to be found, the video files were hosted on file sharing services (like Filefront). Nobody knew about Youtube, which was six months old when Master Engineer was made. At first we hosted the video file at RSN with something like a 256 kb/s uplink connection. The server got totally pwned with download requests and we got complaints about the video not being downloadable. Recorded in August of 2005 in World of Warcraft.
